Hunt for Success
The Hunt for Success program of the Berean Community Center, Inc.(BCC) was established in 2015 to honor the life of Charles B. Hunt, Esq. After a life-long battle with type 1 diabetes (T1D), he passed away at only 30 years of age. Charles, affectionately know as Brandon by his friends and loved ones, became a well-respected, well-liked, and nationally known lawyer. While he achieved much success in his career, his passion was mentoring young people who did not have the opportunities he was fortunate to have. Brandon also had a passion for athletics and played for the Wake County Bar Association’s Lawyers’ Basketball League, which was renamed after him in 2014. The Hunt for Success program honors Brandon by investing in his passions emphasizing achievement in academics and athletics for young people.
Virtual Science and Math Camp
The Center for Science Technology and Leadership Development (CSTLD) is pleased to collaborate with The Berean Community Center to offer STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) as an exciting and fun Virtual Summer Camp experience for middle and high school students. All classes are taught by qualified and certified educators who are also experienced in their field.
CSTLD has been engaging students in out of the classroom academic experiences since 2009. Its work with afterschool and summer camp programs covers a 4-county area. Students living in low income communities and those who desire extra academic assistance benefit most from our offerings. Our Medical Academy, established in 2018, is not offered this year due to COVID 19 but will be offered again in 2021.
